T: Good morning, class! It’s a lovely day today, isn’t it? While I was going to the school I saw ducks swimming in a pond. And you know what? They were singing a song:
Father Duck goes for a swim.
Mother Duck comes out with him.
And behind them, nice and clean,
Seven yellow ducklings swim.
(Промовляючи віршик, вчитель підіймає відповідні зображення на Father Duck, Mother Duck, Ducklings)


T: These ducks would be really happy, if we sang this song too! Please repeat after me line by line: Father Duck goes for a swim.

T: And now who wants to sing full song. (Demonstrate the pictures to help them remember lines.)

T: That is Ok, thank you very much. As you can see, even ducks have their own families. But there is one difference: usually ducks do not work. Dima, does your father work?
P: Yes, he does.
T: And What is he?
P: ….. (P не може нічого сказати)
T: Unfortunately, you don’t know how to say it yet. But don’t worry, by the end of this lesson you will be able to do that.
You may guess the question “What is he?” means «Ким він працює?» So if someone asks you “What are you?” it means that you have to tell your profession.
So What are we, Jenya?

T: There are names of professions on the blackboard. Some of them resemble professions in our language. For example, Sasha, what do you think “doctor” is?
P: Лікар.
T: That is right. Please, raise the card with the picture of a doctor.

T: Good. You see how many professions exist. Each of you has got a card on which a profession is depicted. I will show you a word on the blackboard and you are going to raise a card with the correct profession.

T:Well done, children. Now I’m going to tell you a description of a person. You should guess what he is.

T: Now pupils, listen to a dialogue, where two boys are speaking about their parents. They are quite simple, but only if you remember our previous lesson when we used words “is” and “are” to describe ourselves.

T: You’ve got cards with tables on your desks. These tables are going to help you to speak about professions.

T: Image you and your partner have just met. Ask your partner about his parents’ professions, using these tables. He will answer and ask you in turn.



T: Okay, now you need to recollect how we usually begin conversation. Tables from previous lessons may help you.
So, imagine you’ve met a boy who has come from the Great Britain – your partner. He is a bit shy so ask him about him and his family. Don’t forget about points that are written on the blackboard. Change your roles.

Today we have learnt a lot of new professions.
At home you will need to find out and write in your notebooks what other popular professions we forgot to mention today on the lesson. Ask your parents to help you.

T: We were talking too much about the future lately. However, today we will continue this topic. First of all I’d like to ask you if anybody knows what the word “Futurology” means.
Futurology

P:
T: We precisely know what this word means, so my next question is: what do you think the articles with these heading is about?

* From Astrology to Futurology
* Tomorrow’s World
* A Perfect Future?

T: I didn’t ask you about such titles by chance. Our next text is about future. But before reading I’d like to revise with you something. Masha, can you help me to build the pattern of the Future Indefinite Tense.

S will V1

T: Ed, tell me what it is used for.

….

T: Good. But from time to time we need to talk about actions that will be in progress at a stated future time or about actions that will last for a long time in the future. This pattern is similar to present continuous with the auxiliary verb “will”. Write it into your notebooks.

The Future Continuous.(write)

S will be Ving (adverbial modifier of time)

We will be riding a bike this time next week.

T: Although it is very occasionally, but still sometimes we need to talk about actions which will be finished before a stated future time. This pattern reminds us the perfect tense and is called the Future Perfect. Write it into your notebooks.

S will have V3 (by … ) (adverbial modifier of time)

She will have delivered all here mail by 8 p.m.

T: It’s simple enough but I will remind you that shortened forms of auxiliary verb “will” is possible in the Future Continuous and the Future Perfect.

I will have done – I’ll have done.
I will be doing – I’ll be doing.







T: There are some other unknown words in the article except “Futurology” (which you already know). Write them into your notebooks.

T: Please, read the text titles “Hannah Jones gazes into the future of futurology.” You have 4 min. Get the main gist of the text; skip unknown words, unless you can guess what they mean. There are numbered sentences. Each of them has The Future Tense. But it is for you to determine if it is (I)ndefinite, (C)ontinuous or (P)erfect. Let’s do it.

Just rewrite sentence into your notebook, putting predicate into the right form (it can be Cont or Perf), using patterns on the blackboard or in your notebooks. Pay attention if the sentence is a prolonged action or done. These sentences are predictions which describe the world in 2020. You’ve got 4 minutes.

T: Imagine you are the secretary of the head of the conference from the text. And he asks you to write public announcement of the schedule of the conference according to the table. Don’t forget to use Future Continuous and Future Perfect. You have some clues at the bottom of the table. You’ve got 10 minutes and I’ll take them from to check later.

T: Okay, it’s done. But how can we ask something about action at the particular time in the future? The logic is the same. Change the place of the “will”. That is it. Write it down in your notebooks.

T: Listen carefully to the tape. Two participants of that conference are debating with each other about the future. Raise your hand when you hear a question in the future cont or perfect tense.

T: Our time is over. Your home task is to write an article similar to that we have read today. To make it look similar, use writing strategies given in the end of your books.
Imagine you are a journalist and you need to prepare the article titled “The secondary school of the future” to the first of September. Make your predictions using all the future tenses you know.

Перед виконанням тесту вчитель звертає увагу дітей на таблицю «Present Simple», нагадуючи, як утворюється стверджувальна, питальна і заперечувальна форма дієслів в даному часі.
Учні отримують картки із завданнями по даній граматичній структурі.

Учні отримують листочки з текстом пісні і завданням.

Оцінка роботи учнів на уроці на кожному етапі уроку, виставляння оцінок.
Вчитель коментує кожну оцінку, прагнучи похвалити всіх, хто працював на уроці, був активний, старанний, хто добре засвоїв лексику, відзначив тих, кому ще потрібно попрацювати над даним матеріалом.
